MG have confirmed the next version of the popular mid-size SUV, the MG HS, will be revealed at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed on 11th July.
The eagerly anticipated facelift will be a direct rival to competitors such as the BYD Seal U and the Hyundai Tucson, other renowned plug-in hybrid models entering the UK market.
MG have so far released a brief teaser video for the new model, keeping the full details of the vehicle hidden in the shadows. The video does, however, highlight key design features of the car, including prominent MG logos on the front and rear, a large grille, LED lights and stylish alloy wheels.
The plug-in hybrid version of the new MG HS is rumoured to have a larger battery than its rivals, and is looking to have a pure electric range of around 70 miles. David Allison, MG UK’s head of product and planning, told Auto Express that they’re “going to disrupt the market with that car”.
The electric range should see huge benefits for drivers of company cars, as the Benefit-in-Kind tax rating will be just 5%.
