Let's Talk About Speed
TCH Leasing can share that Brake has announced the theme for this year's Road Safety Week as 'Let's talk about speed.' Scheduled to take place from November 19th to 25th, the focus of the event will centre on the impact of our travel speed and the crucial role of reducing speed in saving lives.
From a statistical perspective, 25% of road fatalities can be attributed to excessive speed. Elevated speeds contribute to longer stopping distances, posing a heightened risk, particularly in adverse weather conditions. Driving at high speeds not only increases the danger of accidents but also amplifies the force of impact in collisions, posing a greater threat to drivers, pedestrians and other road users.
Ross Moorlock, Interim CEO at Brake, said “Every time we drive faster than the speed limit, or too fast for the road conditions, we increase the risk of a crash – and we increase the chance that someone will be killed or hurt on the road. The faster you go, the longer the stopping distance and the harder you will hit something.
“Whoever you are, and however you travel – this year we are challenging everyone to start talking about speed with your friends, families and colleagues.”
Whilst we can’t control the speed you drive your vehicle, TCH Leasing aims to keep you safe in other ways. We offer TCH Assist to every leased car provided by us, which is the complete aftersales care package. TCH Assist includes a quick response to any repair problems you may be faced with, weekend repairs when you need them and tyre replacements.
TCH Leasing also provides a simple to use online booking service for vehicle servicing to ensure that your car is running as smoothly as possible, to make sure that you are safe on the roads. We also have a winter driver guide to give you peace of mind driving in the colder months.
